Positions

Quality Assurance Manager

Position Overview:

  • This position will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Management on the production floor. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and an effective communicator. It will be expected that this individual will be tenacious at achieving deadlines to meet our customer’s quality expectations and on-time delivery. The individual for this position shall possess thorough knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality systems and shall have prior experience within one of these systems in their career.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs physical and material testing as required by control plan and/or IPC, ISO and UL/CSA requirements including first piece and final inspections
  • Maintains Quality logs as required, Quality Alerts/FYI’s, and other quality related administration.
  • Facilitates customer corrective action requests including verifying closure and assists lab technicians in performing these tasks
  • Conduct raw material and/or product assessments relative to new product development activities as needed and coach lab techs in process as required.
  • Issue Vendor DMR’s and approves corrective action responses including assisting lab techs in process.
  • Schedule internal and perform external calibrations as required and assists lab techs in process.
  • Coordinates the Integration and maintenance of the ISO 9001 standard elements
  • Plans and conducts Internal Audits with Internal Audit Team per ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Ensures lab and lab technicians are in compliance with core beliefs and coaches associates to those standards
  • Clearly communicates Quality expectations and results throughout the organization via TEAM meetings and employee communication
  • Ensures compliance with applicable agency (UL, CSA, NEMA, etc.) standards and requirements
  • Utilizes methodologies such as FMEA, 5 Why’s, 8D, SPC, and process mapping
  • Drive improvements and monitoring of Vendor performance
  • Ownership and development of all Quality Standards associated with incoming raw materials, in process materials and final products
  • Responsible for communication externally and providing the linkage between the customer and on Quality related topics.
  • Lead external and internal customer Quality communications both written and verbal
  • Ensures timely closure and effectiveness of Internal, Customer and Supplier corrective actions.
  • Responsible for corporate RMA process and approval
  • Oversees the calibration and certification of all in-house measurement devices
  • Mentors Quality lab technicians and assumes lead in quality lab.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • High school or Technical diploma – 4-year degree in a technical science preferred
  • 3 years minimum experience leading a quality department in a manufacturing environment including labs, equipment, and associates.
  • Involvement in quality processes with regulatory and statutory products and services
  • Knowledge of ISO Procedures and Vocabulary including experience conducting ISO 9001 Internal Audits
  • Capable of using basic metrology equipment
  • Capable of using Electrical Test equipment: Hi-Pot tester, IR testing, continuity

Other Qualities:

  • Self-starter with initiative to make decisions
  • Experience in Wire Harness/Cable Assembly manufacturing a plus
  • Quality Training or certifications a plus
  • Ability to work well with others

Production Manager

Job Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and timely completion of orders. This role involves managing workforce allocation, training, continuous process improvement, and enforcing company policies. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who fosters a safe and productive work environment while driving performance through collaboration and strategic resource management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Order Management:

  • Plan/Distribute production orders, assigning the appropriate number of Assemblers based on order complexity and required skill level.
  • Balance workforce allocation to optimize productivity while maintaining quality standards.

Workforce Supervision and Guidance:

  • Provide direction to Assemblers regarding order execution and documentation comprehension.
  • Serve as the primary point of support after Lead Assemblers for process implementation and troubleshooting.

Order Prioritization:

  • Manage order priority on the production floor based on the Dispatch List to ensure on-time delivery.

Employee Development and Performance Management:

  • Train, instruct, and guide employees to enhance skills and performance.
  • Maintain strong employee relations by enforcing company policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Work with Harness Technicians to train Assemblers in reading and interpreting documentation.

Process Implementation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Take over process execution after Technicians create initial work instructions.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and optimize work scheduling.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance quality, productivity, and efficiency.

Resource Management & Team Collaboration:

  • Recommend staffing adjustments, including transfers, promotions, discharges, and wage changes.
  • Collaborate with other Production Supervisors and Managers to determine resource needs.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Lead by example in following and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure workplace safety.

Additional Duties:

  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or significant field specific experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in wire harness production management, manufacturing, or assembly operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, and assembly processes.
  • Experience with process documentation and quality control standards.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of IPC standards

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ability to analyze KPIs, suggest improvements, and drive operational efficiency.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
